Have You Ever Considered Creating Your Own Indoor Herb Garden ?Our gardening lives to this point we haven’t used fresh herbs in our cooking since we don’t always plan what we’re eating in advance and don’t want them to go to waste if we don’t use them quickly enough. To deal with that I intend to start an Indoor Herb Garden.

We are also planning to have a new area for herbs in our backyard garden. Both fresh herbs and dried herbs have their place in cooking so we plan to grow enough in our outdoor herb garden to dry for those dishes that call for dried herbs. We will use our indoor herb garden to have fresh herbs when we want them.Cooking shows, especially the Food Network, get a lot of my attention. I use a lot of herbs in my cooking but have never used fresh herbs, so I know what herbs to use. It would be cool to have a climate that would allow me to grow herbs year round but instead I will just start my own indoor herb garden.ChivesThe first herb for my indoor herb garden and likely my favorite has to be Chives. I love chives as does my wife and they go with almost anything I cook. I like to put them in my soup just before I am ready to eat it and you know how good they are in a salad or on a baked potato with some sour cream.

Mmmmm I can taste them already and I haven’t even planted them yet.BasilSo many of the chefs I watch on the Food network have a thing going with Basil so even though I have never had fresh Basil I am going to be adding it to my herb gardens. I can’t get enough Italian cooking and I am sure that Basil is in about 87% of their dishes.ParsleyYou can’t cook at my house without Parsley so I would be wondering what I forget if I started my indoor herb garden without Parsley. Parsley is an herb that just goes into or on top of so many great dishes that it would just be wrong to leave it out of the herb garden.OreganoI have planned to add Oregano to our indoor herb garden because it goes so well with poultry dishes. It one of those herbs that I don’t use all that much but I believe I will use a whole lot more as fresh herbs.ThymeThe last herb we will add to our indoor herb garden this year will by Thyme. Because we eat at least two chicken dishes a week I am sure we will go through a lot of Thyme and it will be a treat to try fresh grown Thyme.I am not exactly sure why I was afraid to start my own indoor herb garden but now that I have taken the first step it doesn’t seem so scary. I think the fact that we will have fresh herbs at our finger tips helped get over the fear of failure. When we finally got around to starting an indoor herb garden it was a pretty exciting step, finally we had taken our gardening hobby to the next level. .

In this video I show you how easy growing herbs can be with this indoor herb garden that doesn’t even need dirt.
